Having a perfect game is great. But having a season like Pedro's 1999 season probably is even better. Martinez was so perfect throughout almost the entire season that Sports Illustrated (October 11, 1999) rated his performance as one of the 12 best seasons of all time for baseball pitchers. Guess what? Pedro had a Cinderella type of Golden Transit for every game he pitched during 1999. If you are asking how that is possible, it is because Chiron moves slowly. During the entire baseball season of 1999, Chiron was making a MAGIcal angle (within a 3-degree orb) to the position of Neptune when Pedro was born. This is a Golden Transit. During part of the season, Pedro had two Golden Transits. This occurred whenever Chiron was also making a MAGIcal angle to the position of Jupiter when he was born.
Pedro not only had a season for the record books, he also had some games he could really be proud of. In our opinion, Pedro can be most proud of the fact that he was the only pitcher to beat the Yankees in the 1999 playoffs or World Series. Greg Maddux could not beat the Yankees. Neither could John Smoltz or Tom Glavine. This is especially amazing because of the fact that these three pitchers are all Cy Young Award winners. Pedro was the only pitcher to beat the Yankees in the postseason. On October 16, 1999, Pedro struck out 12 Yankees on his way to a record-breaking performance. You see, unlike June 3, 1995, Pedro's team scored some runs for him. His Red Sox teammates scored 13 runs and the game turned out to be the worst defeat ever suffered by the Yankees in postseason play. We call it a Chiron Super Transit and it is every bit as good as any Golden Transit. But it is not a Cinderella Transit because it is not so romantically inclined. (Although it comes close.)
